Job Summary
Pepco Group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel - Technology & Innovation to support our Group and its companies in all aspects of technological innovation and development. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as strategic business partner to Technology Department, influencing senior stakeholders to ensure project alignment with our IT strategy.
- Provide specialized legal counsel on a wide range of technology contracts, including complex, high-profile, and business-critical agreements in the IT sector.
- Offer first-line support on disputes related to IT contracts, coordinating with the specialist in-house dispute resolution team and external advisors as necessary.
- Provide general legal advice and support on various IT-related issues, including IT litigation and TUPE.
- Develop practical and innovative commercial solutions to problems by thinking "outside of the box."
- Support the simplification and innovation of legal services, using technology to improve processes.
- Define, own, and report on legal transformation in IT area, leading the evolution of the legal function and fostering a transformation mindset across the team.
- Engage with and support other lawyers across the international Pepco Group.
- Manage the outsourcing of matters to external law firms where necessary, ensuring value for money.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years Post-Qualified Experience gained specifically in the IT sector, either at a leading law firm or in-house (in-house experience preferred but not essential).
- Extensive experience working with Oracle, WIPRO, SAP, outsourcing agreements, software licenses, and general commercial disputes arising from the provision of IT products and services.
- Strong enthusiasm for technology and innovation, with wide-ranging commercial contracts experience in the IT industry.
- Experience and understanding of corporate matters within the IT context are welcome.
- AI knowledge and capabilities are a bonus.
- A transformation mindset, with an openness to change, adaptability, and a future-focused approach.
- Must thrive in a team environment, within a dynamic and fast-moving IT setting.
- Ability to build credibility with experienced internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel frequently during the first 12-24 months.
- Openness to work in a hybrid model.
