Planning Manager

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Category and Category Heads in developing and implementing the Category Commercial Strategy.
  • Assist in shaping commercially viable assortments that align with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Manage merchandise budgets to ensure sales, stock, and margin targets are met, driving continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute MFP, assortment, and promotional plans in line with category priorities.
  • Oversee Open-to-Buy (OTB), optimize stock turnover, and maintain product availability.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and inventory management to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to sales, margin, and intake target delivery.
  • Support assortment planning, including product segmentation, range depth and breadth, size ratios, and pack configurations.
  • Implement effective markdown strategies and manage aged inventory clearance.
  • Monitor category performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of direct and indirect reports.

 

Requirements:

  • University degree  - preferred Economics, Product, Production Management, Mathematics, Commercial 
  • Planning experience - at least 5 years 
  • Management experience - at least 2 years 
  • Retail experience - 5 years 
  • Leadership skills: driving vision and purpose, being action-oriented, engaging and motivating the team, developing talent, showing self-awareness, and managing ambiguity effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (essential); good knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Solid understanding of logistics, allocations, planning, buying, visual merchandising (VM), and other operational processes.
  • Familiarity with retail industry practices and trends.
