Junior Markdown Optimisation Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the process of markdown optimization and end-of-life pricing strategies in line with company pricing objectives and guidelines
• Implementing markdown strategies and carrying out markdown sessions:
    – Providing guidance on optimal markdown parameters
    – Selecting underperforming items based on optimal markdown strategies and category financial plans
    – Preparing analyses and price reduction proposals and uploading data into systems
• Executing optimized, progressive clearance markdowns or multi-buy promotions to maximize profit and sell-through
• Supporting forecasts of changes in sales, margin, and unit demand with markdown recommendations
• Monitoring category and product performance – reviewing and validating actual results against projections and expectations (in close cooperation with Planning team)
• Developing and issuing markdown performance reporting and analysis under supervision of Markdown Optimization Analysts and Team Leader
• Preparing standard and ad-hoc analyses for SKU, category, and department markdown results
• Identifying trends and supporting future planning and forecasting activities
• Supporting the development and implementation of new markdown pricing optimization tools and processes
• Assisting with multi-buy promotion planning in cooperation with local business units across markets

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of general professional experience (preferably in analytics or retail)
• University degree – preferred master’s degree (economics, mathematics, product/production management, trade or similar)
• Good knowledge of MS Excel – essential
• MS Word, MS PowerPoint – very good
• Power BI – nice-to-have
• “Power” add-ons / VBA in Excel – nice-to-have
• English – min B1
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
