Head of ESG

 

We are looking for a strategic ESG leader to join Pepco Group as our new Head of ESG, reporting directly to the CFO. This is a rare opportunity to shape and drive the ESG agenda across all our markets, playing a key role in advancing sustainability at scale in one of Europe’s fastest growing value retailers.

 

About the Role

 

As Head of ESG, you’ll lead the development, execution, and continuous evolution of Pepco’s ESG strategy, embedding it deeply across our value chain — from sourcing in Asia to operations across Europe. You will chair key ESG governance bodies, engage closely with the Board and ExCo, and ensure that Pepco is not only compliant with current and upcoming EU regulation (e.g., CSRD, EU Taxonomy), but setting ambitious goals that truly move the needle.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and evolve Pepco’s ESG strategy across all markets
  • Chair ESG and sustainability committees and advise executive stakeholders
  • Drive integration of ESG into product sourcing, supply chain, operations, and customer engagement
  • Lead ESG reporting (CSRD, EU Taxonomy), internal data governance, and external disclosures
  • Oversee ESG risk management, KPI development, and performance tracking
  • Support internal training and ESG culture-building across functions
  • Act as an ambassador of sustainability, both internally and externally

 

What We’re Looking For

 

  • Proven track record in ESG / corporate sustainability in a listed company, ideally in retail or consumer goods
  • Experience working with supply chains or production based in Asia
  • Deep knowledge of EU ESG regulations: CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR
  • Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Data-driven and fluent in ESG reporting standards (e.g. GRI, TCFD, CDP)
  • Fluent English is essential; additional European languages a plus
