Key responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate a procurement business plan for IT category to the overall procurement strategy of Better, Simpler, Cheaper and Faster;
- Develop purchasing strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met or exceeded;
- Forecast levels of demand for services and products in conjunction with Business requirements to be shared with the supplier base;
- Ongoing review of the supplier base to identify opportunities to consolidate volumes and reduce the supplier base, that in turn delivers improvements in the costs;
- Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers to include details of the supplier leadership team to ensure a smooth escalation process;
- Negotiate and agree contracts in conjunction with the Pepco legal team;
- Mitigate any risk to the supply chain by reviewing supplier performance, financial stability and understanding the alternative supplier options.
Skills Required:
- 3 - 5 years related job experience ( IT category)
- Proven track record of delivering savings;
- Understanding of commercial contracts;
- Experienced stakeholder and supplier relationship management;
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills;
- A passion for delivering procurement excellence within the retail sector
- Ability to work globally with internal and external partners;
- Self-starter with high degree of motivation who can operate with minimal supervision;
- Open personality that is naturally curious to learn yet very focused on essential activities;
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills;
- Curious, challenging and a “can do” attitude.
